The following pdfs below is the latest attempt to scam me
out of $500.00. It is a fake bill from some scammer claiming to be in the
Offices of Mitchell D. Bluhm & Associates, LLC. I am posting it because the
public should be aware that this scammer is out to steal their hard earned
money.
There are three addresses to
this attempt to scam me, and I know that every word with in this scammer’s letter
is a lie. Moreover, I do not owe St. Anthony’s Hospital anything, and as there
are hundreds of hospitals around the world with the same name, I sincerely
doubt that it is the one that I know. I have neither contacted this Offices of
Mitchell D. Bluhm & Associates, LLC, nor do I intend to do so. I doubt that
they are real. Even if the law office is real, this scammer could be using their
name.
Should you also get
such a letter in the mail my advice is report it and trash it, or simply -- trash
it.
More importantly, never reply and never ever send money.
Normally, I would have just shredded this type of letter,
but this one just reminded me that there are tens of millions of elderly men
and women just like me who are probably receiving this fake bill, and I can only
hope this post will be of help to some of them by stopping them from falling for,
at least, this scammer.
This
week, I issued a warning for parents—drug dealers are using social
media to sell dangerous, sometimes deadly substances to kids. Minors may
be increasingly susceptible to these digital dealers during the summer,
when they have more free time to spend online.
Using some of the most popular apps to target
children, these digital dealers claim to have prescription opioids for
sale, but they often deliver counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl
instead.
Just two milligrams of fentanyl are enough to kill a
full-grown adult. The scary part is users often have no idea what they
are taking, and too many parents have found out too late that just one
pill can kill.
That is why I released our Fast Facts on Fentanyl Toolkit
to help parents keep their children safe. The kit is full of
information highlighting the dangers of synthetic opioids and how drug
dealers operate.
For example, dealers may use emoji codes to conduct illicit transactions. Here are some of the more common drug codes:
Prescription Drugs: 💊🅿️ 🍫
Dealer Advertising: 💰🔌🍁
Cocaine: ❄️⛄🔑
Marijuana: 💨🌲🔥
I hope that parents will use our toolkit as a
conversation starter with their kids about the risks of drug abuse. For
more information about opioid misuse, visit DoseOfRealityFL.com.
Attorney General Moody Helps Secure More Than $233 Million From Mallinckrodt Over Alleged Underpayment of Medicaid Drug RebatesAttorney
General Ashley Moody helped secure more than $233 million through a
multistate action alleging that a nationwide pharmaceutical company
defrauded Medicaid. Mallinckrodt ARD, LLC, formerly known as Questcor
Pharmaceuticals, Inc, sells and markets pharmaceuticals nationwide. Of
the more than $233 million secured through this nationwide effort, more
than $14 million will go to the Florida Medicaid program.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “We are
recovering millions of dollars for Florida’s Medicaid program and
taxpayers nationwide following a massive multiagency investigation. It’s
important that we always fight to uphold the integrity of
taxpayer-funded programs. I hope this multistate effort sends a strong
message to anyone looking to take advantage of taxpayers—that their
scheme will be uncovered, and they will pay.” More.
Attorney General Moody Announces Arrest of Home Health Aide Employee for Withholding Services from Disabled Adult
Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Medicaid Fraud
Control Unit and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office arrested a Duval
County home health aide employee for falsifying time spent helping a
disabled Medicaid recipient. According to the MFCU investigation, Diane
Johnson did not provide any services to a disabled adult for five weeks,
and instead sat in the car outside of the patient’s home. Unable to
care and clean the house due to a disability, the patient's home became a
mess and Johnson refused to do the services required.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “Not only did
this home health aide employee rip off a taxpayer-funded program, but
she also withheld services from a patient in need of care. My Medicaid
Fraud Control Unit uncovered these crimes, and now the suspect in this
case will have to answer for her decisions not to provide care.” More.

“Delivery Attempted - No Access to Delivery Location”.
On March 05, 2022, we order some groceries from one of the
local Walmart store to be delivered to us. We received everything with the exception of
one large bottle of ‘Arm & Hammer
Sensitive Skin Free & Clear, 140 Loads Liquid Laundry Detergent’, 210 Fl oz
for $10.97. This detergent was due to arrive yesterday, March 06, 2022.
When it did not arrive we checked the USPS tracking
information for the detergent’s location, below is what we learned.
As seen above, it states “Delivery Attempted - No Access to
Delivery Location”. In truth no one from the USPS came to our home. We were out doing yard work and there was
nothing on the security cameras showing anyone from USPS. Therefore, we
contacted Walmart via chat, and was told in order to get a refund for us to return
to the chat on Monday, March 7, 2022 and inform them that the detergent did not
arrive last night.
The detergent neither arrived last night nor by 7am this
morning, so Walmart was informed and a refund was issued. However, the
detergent arrived later this morning in the pictured condition.
1.Shipping box partially opened and wet
2.Detergent loose
3.Detergent in its shipping box delivered in
pictured USPS storage crate.
Walmart was contacted again via chat and informed
of the state of this delivery and that we received it, but we did not want the detergent any longer because
we do not know if the detergent has been contaminated or not.
We will be returning this detergent on the above grounds and
we firmly believe it should be discarded and not resold.
A link to this post has been given to Walmart.
We will reorder. Hopefully, this is the end of such mishaps.
We got the okay from Walmart to discard the detergent, so here goes....
Walmart seriously needs to clean house in the local store I have been doing my online shopping at lately. It is bad enough that there are trouble makers on my block with ties to some of the local and online stores we shop at, now we experiencing bank charges for sales we neither made nor approved, missing or stolen items, ... and today, bad produce. Below are photos of the bad produce in the order placed on Wednesday to be delivered today.
This "Sprout House Potted Mint Herb Plant" is should not have been sold.
The Cantaloupe in the photo below should not have been sold. The brussel sprouts and the Redi whip I never ordered.
The link to this post is being given to Walmart, because what been happening in that store is inexcusable.
We have a Tomato Thief. The pictures below show the plants
with their green tomatoes on May 11, 2021, and the same plants today missing
their tomatoes, which were stolen sometime within the last ten days
May 11, 2021
May 11, 2021
Since we do have thieves in this area, the thief could be
the same person that stole other vegetables from my garden early this year and last
fall. Why the leaves are in this conditioner is unknown to me.
We don't know what is happening over at our local Walmart; however, we are tried of receiving bad bread and produce for good money, and this not the first time this has happened. Although Walmart refunded our money, the uncaring manner in which the employee at that store select customer bread and produces for our delivery order is non-excusable. If this is being done on purpose by an unbalance employee, he/she needs to be fired.
The problem with the bread is that it is two days from its expiration date. That last time we received bread like this it molded after a five days of purchase.
This is $19.63 worth of bad food that had to be refunded and thrown out.
The following is a reprint ofAttorney
General Ashley Moody's weekly newsletter. The passing of the Hb 1041bill into law is an important victory for all of Florida Senior Citizens.
I’m excited to announce that our push to ensure greater
senior protection in Florida is well under way. Thanks to Representative
Colleen Burton and Senator Danny Burgess, our senior protection bill passed the
full legislature this week!
It’s no secret that Florida is a great place to retire. With
more than five million seniors calling Florida home, it is our duty to ensure
we provide a safe environment for older citizens to enjoy their golden years
free from fraud and exploitation. Unfortunately, scammers recognize our booming
senior population and often seek to turn their dream retirement into a
financial nightmare.
Our seniors deserve peace of mind and the ability to enjoy
their retirement, free of worry from deceitful scammers looking to exploit
their trust.
This law will strengthen senior protection by preventing the
intentional isolation of vulnerable adults, allowing for intervention by law
enforcement and prosecutors to prevent irreversible physical harm or financial
loss to Florida seniors, and strengthening accountability of Guardians.
My Office of Statewide Prosecution will also have additional
authority to go after those who commit crimes against elderly and disabled
adults.
I’m so grateful for the support of The Florida Bar’s Elder
law section, House Speaker Chris Sprowls and Senate President Wilton Simpson
throughout this process.
Better protecting the more than 5 million seniors that call
Florida home will help us build a Stronger, Safer Florida.
Attorney General Moody Urges Congress to Support EAGLES Act
Attorney General Ashley Moody, with a bipartisan group of 40
attorneys general, is urging Congress to pass the EAGLES Act, a national
program to prevent targeted school violence. The legislation is named for the
Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Eagles and would expand the U.S. Secret
Service’s National Threat Assessment Center, with a greater focus on
school-violence prevention.
The EAGLES Act’s safe-school initiative contains research
and training components, allows dissemination of evidence-based practices, and
authorizes NTAC to work with state and local officials to develop research and
training.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “This Congressional
legislation, named in honor of the victims of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High
School attack, will help strengthen our schools through coordinated federal,
state and local resources. I am proud to join my fellow attorneys general in
support of this important legislation to increase security and help prevent
acts of violence at schools in Florida and across our nation.” More.
Attorney General Moody Announces Passage of Historic Senior
Protection Legislation
Attorney General Ashley Moody announced the passage of
historic senior protection legislation. Attorney General Moody worked closely
with the Elder Law Section of the Florida Bar, Senator Danny Burgess and
Representative Colleen Burton in crafting HB 1041 to provide greater protection
to seniors statewide. The bill today passed off the Senate floor and will head
to Governor Ron DeSantis for his signature.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “It’s no secret that
Florida is a great place to retire. With more than five million seniors calling
Florida home, it is our duty to ensure we provide a safe environment for older
citizens to enjoy their golden years free from fraud and exploitation.
Unfortunately, scammers recognize our booming senior population and often seek
to turn their dream retirement into a financial nightmare.
“Our seniors deserve peace of mind and the ability to enjoy
their retirement, free of worry from deceitful scammers looking to exploit
their trust. I’m proud to work with Senator Danny Burgess and Representative
Colleen Burton to strengthen our state laws and the authority of my Statewide
Prosecutors to help ensure criminals targeting Florida’s older population are

More Than $11 Million in Refunds Secured for Consumers
Affected by Credit Card Interest Rate Reduction Scam
Attorney General Ashley Moody announced millions of dollars
secured as a result of a joint action brought by Attorney General Moody’s
Office and the Federal Trade Commission in refunds for consumers affected by a
credit card interest rate reduction scam. In response to a bogus credit card
interest rate reduction scheme operated by E.M. Systems & Services, refunds
totaling more than $11 million are being distributed to consumers who lost
money in the scam—including hundreds of Floridians victimized by the scheme.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “These fraudsters
knowingly exploited the trust of Florida consumers in order to earn a dishonest
dollar—through deceptive telemarketing on false promises of debt reduction. I’m
proud to work with the Federal Trade Commission to return lost money to
hundreds of Floridians victimized by this deceptive telemarketing scam.” More.
Law Enforcement and Correctional Officer Practices
Legislation Passes Both Chambers of the Florida Legislature
Attorney General Ashley Moody is thanking legislative
leaders for passing the Law Enforcement and Correctional Officer Practices
Bill. HB 7051 is focused on improving Florida law enforcement training and
policing practices. The legislation passed both chambers of the Florida
legislature this week.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “I believe fostering
positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they swore
an oath to protect is vital to ensuring a thriving, strong state. As a former
member of the Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration
of Justice, I focused intently on innovative ways to strengthen these bonds,
improve policing and reduce crime, both in Florida and nationwide.
“What I have learned through my work on the Commission, and
decades of public service in the criminal justice system, is that law
enforcement cannot achieve these goals alone. It will take all of us working
together to build upon and strengthen our criminal justice system. I want to
thank Florida’s legislative leaders for working to pass legislation ushering in
meaningful steps to improve and support policing in Florida.” More.
Attorney General Moody’s Office of Statewide Prosecution
Secures 25 Year Prison Sentence for Heroin Trafficker
Attorney General Ashley Moody’s Office of Statewide
Prosecution secured a 25-year prison sentence against a drug trafficker after
distributing heroin throughout Central Florida. The stiff prison sentence is
the result of a U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into
Cristian Reyes Rios. Attorney General Moody’s Statewide Prosecutors provided
legal assistance to the DEA during the course of the investigation and
prosecuted Reyes Rios.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “This convicted drug
trafficker spent the better half of the last decade distributing dangerous
drugs throughout our state—while Florida fought back against the deadly opioid
crisis. I am proud of the work my Statewide Prosecutors have done in securing a
lengthy prison sentence for this drug trafficker and hope this serves as a
warning to anyone pushing dangerous and illegal substances in Florida. We will
not stand idly by as you endanger the lives of Floridians.” More.
Attorney General Moody Secures $300 Million Following
Investigation into Improper Marketing and Sale of Suboxone
Attorney General Ashley Moody, working with state and federal
partners, is securing $300 million following a nationwide investigation.
Attorney General Moody’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit worked with the U.S.
Department of Justice and other state MFCUs to investigate allegations that
Indivior plc. and Indivior Inc., d/b/a Indivior, falsely and aggressively
marketed and otherwise promoted the drug Suboxone, resulting in improper
expenditures of state Medicaid funds. Suboxone is a drug product approved for
use by recovering opioid addicts to avoid or reduce withdrawal symptoms while
they undergo treatment. Suboxone and its active ingredient, buprenorphine, are
powerful and addictive opioids.
Attorney General Ashley Moody said, “The opioid epidemic is
claiming the lives of Floridians every day. It is reprehensible that these
companies would prey on those recovering from opioid addiction to earn a
dishonest dollar. Even more disturbing, they exploited the taxpayer-funded
Medicaid program to get the job done. Thanks to my Medicaid Fraud Control Unit
and the Department of Justice, these companies are being held accountable and
relief will go to the government health care programs affected by these
aggressive and predatory tactics.” More.
